About Detroit Tigers

Your 2010 Detroit Tigers are currently sitting 12-games out of first place in the AL Central and are trying to make a move with 29 games remaining. The team is struggling with injuries as nine players currently sit on the DL. Out are LF Ryan Raburn, C Gerald Laird, RHP Jeremy Bonderman, 2B Carlos Guillen, LHP Bobby Seay, INF Danny Worth, DH Magglio Ordonez, RHP Joel Zumaya, RHP Zach Miner.

The team has had to deal with giving their rookies considerable minutes sometimes to the detriment of the team. "Young players, in big situations, it takes time," Manager Jim Leyland said. "They'll learn. We just have to keep grinding."

Founded in Detroit in 1894 as one of the Original eight charter franchises in the American League, the Detroit Tigers have won four World Series Championships in their history. They originally played at Bennett Park playing there until 1912 when the team moved to Navin Field. In 1938, the franchise rebuilt the complex and renamed it Briggs stadium. The stadium was again renamed in 1961 to Tigers Stadium and the franchise played there until moving to their new digs at Comerica Park in 2000.

The Tigers have won four World Series Titles (1935, 1945, 1968 & 1984), ten American League Pennants (1907, 1908, 1909, 1934, 1935, 1940, 1945, 1968, 1984 & 2006), and three East Division titles (1972, 1984, 1987).
